Opening salutation
Bismillahhirahmanirrahim.
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh dan salam sejahtera.
Mengadap Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah.
Mengadap Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj.
Ampun Tuanku beribu-ribu Ampun, sembah patik mohon diampun.
Terlebih dahulu patik serta seluruh dif-dif jemputan pada hari ini dengan penuh hormat dan takzimnya merafak sembah menjunjung kasih di atas perkenan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku berdua berangkat bercemar duli ke majlis Anugerah Diraja Kewangan Islam Tahun 2022.
Sesungguhnya keberangkatan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku berdua ke Majlis ini amat bermakna kepada industri kewangan Islam yang pastinya akan meninggalkan kenangan yang tidak akan dilupakan untuk patik-patik sekalian.
Patik mendoakan semoga Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku berdua sentiasa berada di dalam pemeliharaan Allah S.W.T. dengan penuh kemuliaan dan keberkatan.

Patik juga ingin merafak sembah menjunjung kasih di atas perkenan Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah, Penaung Diraja bagi Inisiatif Kewangan Islam Malaysia, dan Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan, Tuanku Zara Salim, kerana perkenan berangkat bercemar duli ke majlis ini.

Opening Salutations
1) On behalf of the joint organisers – Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia – it is with great honour and pleasure that I welcome all distinguished guests here today to the Royal Award for Islamic Finance presentation ceremony. We are especially honoured that Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku has consented to confer this prestigious award.
2) Indeed, this award has displayed remarkable longevity since its introduction 12 years ago. Despite a short break due to the pandemic, 2020 – 2021, its continued resilience validates the growing stature of Islamic finance globally. As a leading jurisdiction, it is fitting that we continue to give recognition to deserving individuals that have uplifted this industry.
Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, Ladies & Gentlemen
3) The strength of Islamic finance lies in a simple underlying purpose, which is championing the social good. This ensures its impact is felt far and wide, from the individual investor to innovative businesses and the wider community.
4) The unrelenting efforts of our industry forebearers have given rise to the contemporary Islamic products and services widely accepted today. However, the financial landscape is one of constant evolution. Accelerated technology and digital adoption is reshaping access and investor behaviours.
5) In order for Islamic finance to continue to advance, it is crucial to assimilate innovation and technology into existing Shariah knowledge and practices. I believe that this will enable industry, particularly future Royal Award winners, to provide breakthrough Islamic solutions for the benefit of society, ummah and the global community.
6) Thought leadership has long been an important pillar for both Bank Negara Malaysia and the SC in advancing the development of Islamic finance, for which we believe Malaysia is a global leader.
7) As part of this initiative, the Royal Award recognises visionary individuals with outstanding lifetime achievements that contribute significantly to the growth of Islamic finance and the socio-economic progress of communities around the world.
8) Within industry circles, this year’s Royal Award winner is known for his unwavering commitment and great passion for Islamic finance. His intellectual qualities, strong sense of professionalism and outstanding credentials have made him a role model for Islamic finance practitioners globally.
9) On that note, I would like to take this opportunity to record our utmost appreciation to the Jury of the Royal Award for Islamic Finance 2022, led by none other than Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Musa Hitam. Bank Negara Malaysia and the SC would also like to thank members of the Steering and Selection committees for their sustained commitment and dedication.
10) Our appreciation also goes to the honourable Minister of Finance, Deputy Ministers of Finance, and not forgetting, all our distinguished guests for honouring us with your presence here today.
